Wandering to various old LM’s while attempting to inventory clean today i stumbled across a place that had what looked like a school building mock up on it….there was a small gym hall with stuff left over from halloween in it…bloody writing on walls, killer snowmen (i dunno why), a picture of jason from friday the 13th, and, a hallway…ooooh i recodnise that hallway i thought, it’s from THE SHINING!!!!!!! its my number 2 most favourite scary movie EVER *number one is of course THE EXORCIST…little girl….pea soup….y’know*

I decided i had to take a quick pic of me in the hallway.

before i had the chance to say “cheese”, those two little girls appeared….oh crap…..

I tried a bit of Kung foo on them….but it didn’t work, so i faked death then ran away (cause im clever like that)

How many more sleeps till christmas???

Ok, it’s november..its SO close to christmas!!!! i cant wait! every year i get like this near xmas time. I love everything about christmas, the cold outside when it’s all warm and snuggly inside, the beautifully wrapped (unless you are my sister in-law, shhh..i didn’t say that) gifts, the snow falling, the twinkly tree lights…ARGH!!!!!!! is it santa time yet?!!

I am not ALLOWED to put up my tree or any kind of christmas stuff till the end of november…..hubby’s orders (bah humbug to him) but! i can put up my virtual tree!!!!!!!! oh yes, i did! i know im sad…..humour me.

*note the excess of space under the tree…..plenty of space for santa to empty his sack (that sounded a bit rude)

I came across a rather nice sounding sim today called Butterdish! sounds lush no? it was lovely and fun!! it’s got a whopping great tornado you can interact with (kinda), click a sign and you can wizz around with the cows! excellent idea and also a good excuse for me to get out and wander *now follow the comedy photos* groan…

My youngest daughter came home from nursery today and declared “Mummy, go away and do something till i draw you a picture!” i generally do as im told (unless it’s my husband who’s asking ) i dutifully went off and did some dishes till i was “allowed” back into the “creation area” (my lounge)…..she had drawn a picture of me…and our pet rabbit!!! (we dont have a pet rabbit lol) She was so proud of her creation i just had to put it on my blog!

 

 

 

 

 

Too cute….she got my big staring eye’s, yellow face and ten foot eyelashes just right! BTW that’s chocolate mousse all over her face…apparently helps the creation process *shrugs* there you go, a little bit of my RL that made me smile today…courtesy of my favourite three year old in the whole world

Lazy me.

I have been really really lazy in SL for a couple of weeks now, i log on and just kind of hang around in my skybox reading notices and other people’s blogs. I actually hang out at home in sl a LOT these days, which is possibly why i change homes so often. I love to have a warm, comfortable feeling at home in RL and i like to have this at home in sl too….i am a devourer of prims! i will use my prim allowance right down to the last one if i can to create a nice space.

I liked the skybox i was “living” in but it still wasn’t quite right so off i went checking out places, i actually came across a few nice ones on Xstreet, but they were either too high on prim count for me, or just not the same as the picture when visited inworld. I was just about to give up when i spotted what looked like a pretty box on the ad’s on one of the pages, when i clicked on it the pictures showed a nice fresh, clean and airy looking space i thought i could make into a cozy retreat, the owner didn’t have a store inworld tho and it was an “IM to veiw in world” deal, which to be honest (and this will make me sound weird) i didn’t want to do, i can still be a bit shy at times and didn’t want to bother the creator…anyway, i looked up her name in search to store for a less shy moment and in her picks there were links to her builds! 3 of them, a driftwood skybox, a cozy attic space, and the one i had my eye on…the Snow.white skybox….YAY! i could go have a look without having to im her!

the box was just what i wanted…it was light and airy and fresh…..but still had a cozy feeling….the veiwing model is fully decorated in what i assume is the creator’s style..and i loved it! (i’d need a million extra prims to make it look as good as that tho!) it took me a 2 minute look around (to gague size mainly as that wasn’t given on Xstreet) and the revelation that it would cost me L$500..which is shockingly cheap when you consider the quality! I bought it!

I have spent the last couple of days arranging stuff and decorating it and trying NOT to eat up all my prims (i have managed to save..umm…9) and it feels like home *sigh* i hope this girl opens up a shop inworld, because she makes seriously gorgeous stuff…..she has made a set of lamps, a beautiful room divider, and a little wooden tree arm with birds on it ..all on Xstreet for zero lindens! If you want to check her out on xstreet or inworld her name is JORDAN GIANT….one to watch

P.s. I have edited this post to add in a couple of picture’s just to show the mood of the box…and the optional wall poem that was apparently the inspiration for the build…nice eh?

I wasnt going to post today but i read some blog’s and i found myself getting really really irritated.

The whole debacle over the Gala BATTLE ROYALE skin’s is still dragging on…i have made my feeling’s on that skin clear and as an owner of a good few of Gala’s skin’s i think the idea of a boycott is plain ridiculous…just, really? c’mon! you dont like the skin….dont buy the skin, end of.

What is getting my goat (to coin a phrase) is reading the comments from people on blogs relating to this skin….and i am tired…SO tired of the “Barbie” thing. I get that it irritates some people out there that like to have an edgy…original (and wtf IS original in Second Life, tell me?)..and unusual look, that some of us like our avi’s to look pretty and dressed up in “fashiony” clothes seem’s to bug some of these people. I count myself as one of these barbie people actually, i have a million skin’s (Barbie, no…skin ho? hell yeah) i like to wear a nice skin….one that i think suits my avatar, i like to buy nice clothes if i like them…..excuse the hell outta me for having an opinion on how to look that doesn’t agree with how these people think!

I love that in sl people can look however they want, Slave, alien. robot, vampire, beauty queen, larger shaped avatar etc….it all point’s to a personality behind the lil pixel person..i call my avi a barbie all the time, but purely because i dress her up. I dont consider myself to be an airhead (a goofy geek sometimes yes) and i will dress her as i see fit.

Isnt the whole point of the argument over the Gala skins that you should be able to look however you want?  if you want to wear a skin with scars/ thick brows/ facial hair/teeth on show with a vampire cape and a tree sticking outta your head…….how does that make you any different to someone who wears a glamour skin with breast options and the entire range from ‘Skirt’s that show your cooch R us’? (i made that name up…dont ask me for the LM)  It’s personal choice isn’t it?  and doesn’t a person’s avatar represent the real person to other sl user’s? It sure as hell doesn’t change the person in control of the avatar, or the way they conduct themselves, which is rather more important i would think.

Rant over!, unless someone stand’s next to me in one of those anti-inspect sheild’s, in which case i’ll want to know what the weather is like….up their own arse.

It’s nearly halloween! i caved!!! i got a costume…well, an avi, and WHAT an avi by the Body Politik! The title of this post refers to a quote in the movie SHAUN OF THE DEAD, one of my all time favourite’s…i HAD to be a zombie!

 

You get the whole avi for 2000L (ouch yes..but lookiee at the quality!) i actually scared myself a bit when i was takin the picture…it was like looking in the mirror first thing in the morning in rl! (anyone who comments will be found and eaten…and not in a good way)

I’m ready halloween! all i need now in my bestie Mr Shelford to get his Shaun avi out and come bring it on!   *shuffles off moaning*
